Cavendish Engineers, from its initial conception, has taken a great interest in its customers, particularly those in the aerospace industry. It is fascinated by the state-of-the-art science and engineering employed in the design and manufacture of aircraft, spacecraft and other aerospace products.

Since 1994, Cavendish Engineers has been providing civil engineering advice and technical know-how to Astrium Ltd. and its predecessor companies Matra Marconi Space and BAe Space Systems. Astrium Ltd is the UK arm of Astrium, a world leader in the space industry, and as such it requires manufacturing facilities of the highest clean room standard.

In this time, Cavendish has prepared and supplied facilities for a number of prestigious and world renowned projects and programmes; designing and providing complex controlled environments for the assembly integration and test of high quality aerospace products.

Cavendish Engineers continues to work closely with Astrium Ltd and its facilities team, as lead engineering consultants to design and manage the development of facilities and clean rooms. This requires constant evolution and updating of designs to meet the new and ever-changing engineering technologies in this ultra hi-tech industry.

Cavendish Engineers have recently worked with e2v to design and build a class six facility at their Chelmsford, Essex site. We were able to design a clean room that had approximately up to 40% less running costs.
