Successful Energy Event

Over 80 house hold names came together to show their commitment in reducing their energy, at the Institute Of Directors on the 23rd April.

The morning seminar which was hosted by energy experts, Cavendish Engineers along with partners HSE Group, advised on how the top London based organisations can use carbon reducing technologies to meet the new energy legislation.

The attendees where from right across the sector, including house hold names such as; Channel Four, MTV Networks, HSBC and T Mobile. The corporate sector, government agencies, universities also attended.
The speakers Steve Allen and Simon Potts were able to draw upon their combined 50 years of experience, to give an in-depth insight into how energy should be monitored through using ISO16001 and which technologies are most beneficial in reducing energy usage in order to hit benchmarks and targets.

Steve Allen, Managing Director of Cavendish Engineers commented; "We understand that clients are under pressure to deliver a carbon reduction programme. However, sometimes they are under financial constraint in doing so. We wanted to share our experiences on the challenges we often face, and the different technologies that can help tackle these problems."
HSE Group also gave an insightful presentation on real life applications including Bio Mass, Combined Heat and Power, LED Lighting and Energy Controls and Monitoring.

Simon Potts, Managing Director of Platignum Environmental commented; "It was great to be able to share our knowledge of which technologies work best for different applications. The financial benefits and government subsidies now make these technologies economically sensible as well as environmentally helpful".

The subjects sparked quite a debate and it enabled the different sectors to share their experiences with other delegates.
The seminar concluded with a small exhibition area where delegates were able to ask experts further questions about a particular low carbon technology; ranging from LED's to CHP's.
